Back in January, it came to my attention that I was required to complete an internship for my Journalism major to graduate, so I began brainstorming about where I could go. My first thoughts were to check in with the summer job that I have had for the last four years or even work with a family friend.

With big changes in both of those opportunities, the answer was no.

At first, I was angry; I thought it was my fault that I could not find an internship. Soon after, I had an idea to reach out to the communications team at CedarCreek to see if I could complete my college internship with them.

They said YES, so I was able to step into a college-based summer internship! I created a weekly schedule to make sure I complete all of my internship requirements and was ready to be a summer intern with CedarCreek.

BUT, I was still left with the uncertainty of how I was going to pay for college and rent. That is when God met me and showed me his plan.

In my humanness, I was worried about getting the hours I needed to cover expenses for next school year. While I was still living open-handedly and praying through it, I was going to say YES to God and whatever invitation he had for me.

Then, I experienced my CRAZIEST outcome ever, when a simple trip to the grocery store ended with a spontaneous interview and a job offer!

I was shopping at Kroger's, and I noticed some plants on sale. When you get to know me, you learn I have a passion for nature and caring for plants. With over 50 plants in my room, I did not have an orchid, but I was going to learn how to care for one. So I picked out my orchid and realized that there was no price tag on it, so I stopped a worker and asked for the price. In our conversation, I mentioned that one of the other plants had bugs on it and would be wise to set it aside.

It was in the Kroger floral section where I was asked if I wanted a part-time job in the floral department, BUT that is not the CRAZY part!

I gave my contact information to him and finished up my shopping. A few minutes later, the same worker found me in an aisle and asked me if I had time for an interview!

I said YES.

I went in unprepared, talked with the knowledge and passion I had, and let God do the rest. God gave me an opportunity and provided for me in something I was already so passionate about.

And they hired me on the spot!

By giving my YES to God, he provided for me.

Living with my hands wide open and giving my YES to God, He continues to provide for me, bringing me peace in the busy and helping me meet people along the way. I know God will do the same for you when you give him your YES, too.
