Over the past five weeks, we’ve looked at some bad boys of the Bible, allowing us to see God’s heart for these men and to learn from their mistakes. Samson’s story reminded us that lost purpose leads to wasted potential.
Today, take some time to review the scripture that stood out to you. You may consider reading Judges 14:8-9, Proverbs 18:2, or our series theme verse, Psalm 37:3-4. Look back on any notes you may have captured over the past few days, and jot down any actions you took this week.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for the example of men like David, Absalom, Samson, and others, whose lives weren’t perfect, and yet you chose to have their stories recorded for me to read. Help me learn from them, Father – what they did well, and where they faltered. Help me to always remember that I have a purpose when I follow and glorify you in what I say and do. Use my life to benefit others so they may come to know you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Series Theme Verse:
Psalm 37:3-4
3 Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. 4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.
