Weekend Series: Advent 2023

DreamTeam Writer: Kelly Pagel

Saturday, December 9, 2023

Throughout this past week, we have had an opportunity to read a variety of devotions to become more rooted in Christ and to begin preparing for the celebration of our Savior’s birth. It is so tempting to put our hope in things like achievements, relationships, or things. But the joy we find in Jesus is what will truly leave us feeling fulfilled.

Today, I invite you to carve out a few quiet moments to reread the verses that really spoke to you this week. Some possibilities may come from last weekend’s message such as Luke 2:10 or Psalm 37:4, or it may be from one of the Advent devotions you read. Then look back on the notes you captured from last Sunday and reflect on the actions you took this week.

You may consider making additional notes as you explore the following questions:

What have you learned about God this week?

How will you continue to connect with God this Christmas season?

Prayer:
Father, thank you for the gift of your son and the true joy you offer by being connected with you. This Christmas season, I desire to draw closer to you. Help me share your joy with others, so that they might come to know you. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Series Theme Verse:

Psalm 16:11 (ESV)
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
