If you're like me, you often find yourself trapped in the monotonous cycle of your daily routine, preoccupied with simply making it through the day without making any mistakes or accidentally upsetting someone. These constant worries often leave us feeling overwhelmed and can lead us to underestimate the evil we face on a daily basis.
1 Peter 5:8-9
8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.
The reality is that the enemy attacks us relentlessly—daily, and sometimes even hourly. This constant barrage can make us forget the importance of remaining strong in our faith by relying on and drawing that strength from Jesus. When we convince ourselves that we can manage difficult tasks solely through our own efforts, without leaning on Jesus’ guidance and support, we run the risk of overestimating our own capabilities.
It’s essential to remember that Jesus has authority over everything in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). When we choose to surrender our lives to him fully, he equips us with an unwavering strength to boldly and courageously confront evil in his name.
As Christ followers, we not only possess unique God-given strengths, but also the Holy Spirit, who provides us with the insight and resilience we need to challenge and counteract the evil around us.
Every faithful action you take is empowered by God. Never underestimate how much of an impact God can make through you when you simply step forward with faithfulness in your heart. Through God, even the smallest acts of courage have the potential to make an eternal difference.
John 16:13-14
13 “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. 14 He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me.”
