Over the past few days, we’ve explored the freedom and healing that is offered when we bring our secrets into the light.
1 Peter 2:9
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
What do you need to do to step into the light?
Today, take stock of the following questions. You may find you need to rest on the first one or may get to the third. Take time to journal and develop a plan to move toward freedom.
- How do you see yourself? As God does, or someone else? (Ephesians 2:10)
- How can you step into things honestly with God and others? (1 John 1:9 and James 5:16)
- What does it look like to fight to protect what matters? (1 John 4:18)
Prayer:
Lord, today help me be honest with you, myself, and others. Help me bring things into the light and surrender them to you, knowing your great love for me will endure. Then help me love others as you have loved me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Series Theme Verse:
Romans 1:20
For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
