A baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in the manger was certainly a miraculous sign, and it's not hard to imagine the shepherd being overwhelmed by the wondrous sight. But it was so much more than that!
That baby was our Immanuel—God with us. (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23)
Today, reflect on the amazing gift of Jesus (John 1:14) and the incredible grace that he offers (Ephesians 1:7), or review any of the other verses that stood out to you over the past few days. Spend time carefully exploring each word and listening to what God wants to teach you.
Review the notes you captured during your readings, and jot down any additional thoughts you may have.
Prayer:
Lord your birth was so much more than just a miraculous sign. It was a demonstration of your incredible love as you came to earth to live a blameless life and die for my sins. Help me to seek you with my whole heart and live a life that serves as a light for others, so they may know you better. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Series Theme Verse:
