Have you ever considered that God has been bringing light into the world since the beginning (Genesis 1:2-3)?

Jesus went on to say this about himself:

John 8:12
Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

Jesus offers us an answer to a life that can sometimes feel void or shapeless, but you must accept him.

Will you allow him to be Lord of your life?

Christmas offers an incredible opportunity to put your trust in Jesus, or to renew your commitment to following him.

Today, set aside time to connect with God. Pray, and pay attention to what he has to say and what action you need to take. Then respond to the following questions and reflect on how you can take a step or two forward to deepen your connection with him.

Prayer:
Lord, thank you for the gift of your Son, Jesus. As Christmas gets ever closer, rather than feeling overwhelmed by all that needs to be done or consumed by what is going on around me, help me put my trust in you and rest in your presence. In Jesus’ name, amen.
