Weekend Series: Top Off Doors Off

Imagine you are making a plan for your life, looking ahead, thinking about where your life is going…

When you're imagining this, do you picture anyone sitting next to you on this journey?

Reflecting on where life is headed and who we’re becoming along the way can be a meaningful exercise. Ultimately, the most memorable parts of our journey aren’t just about the destination but about the people who travel with us. It’s in the laughter, the shared challenges, and the support we offer each other that we find the true value of the path we take. Our shared experiences and mutual encouragement help us grow, turning the journey itself into something meaningful.

Sometimes, the people we walk with see our worth and potential even before we do. Their belief in us can be the push we need to keep moving forward when we feel stuck or unsure, and their encouragement becomes a source of strength and hope.

And it goes both ways.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.

When we live in a way that helps others in our relationships succeed, we don't just surround ourselves with the right people; we become the right kind of people for others, too.

As you look ahead, think about who is walking beside you. Are you in relationships where value is seen, spoken, and strengthened? Are you encouraging others in the same way?

The right people do more than improve the journey. They remind you of who you are, and as we walk together recognizing each other's value, we reflect something greater and truly transformative.

Discussion Questions:
Ice Breaker: If your life were a road trip, what kind of passenger are you: a driver, navigator, or just along for the ride?

How can the wrong people influence someone without them even realizing it?

Read Mark 2:1-12: What does this story reveal about the role of others in our spiritual journey?

When you’re struggling, do you have people who will step in and help carry you?

Reflect and Respond: Where might you need to reevaluate who you’re allowing to influence your direction? How can you become someone who helps others move forward?

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the people you’ve placed alongside me on this journey. Help me recognize their value, encourage them, and walk with humility and love. Give me the wisdom to support others as they support me, and let our relationships reflect your grace. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Series Theme Verse:
Galatians 5:13
For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
