When we aren’t mindful, it is easy to let bitterness toward another take root in our heart. One way to combat this is to, instead, respond with grace through prayer.
Hebrews 12:15
Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.
Today, we are going to endeavor to begin a 30-day prayer challenge.
For the next month, you are encouraged to pray for a person who has disappointed you. Although this may be really difficult, God wants to meet you in this challenge and draw you closer to him in the process.
Start now! Think of someone who has disappointed you and pray for them. Feel free to use the prayer below as a guide.
Prayer:
God, thank you for your gracious act of agape. Help me remember the cost and the sacrifice. Lord, I ask that your incredible kindness would encourage and empower me to share that same love with __________________, who disappoints me. Thank you for shedding your blood to forgive me of my sins. Please help me forgive those who do the same to me. I ask this is Jesus’ powerful name. Amen.
Series Theme Verse:
John 16:33
"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
