Weekend Series: The Most Disappointing Series Ever

DreamTeam Writer: Kelly Pagel

Read 5:38-47, Matthew 5:48, John 16:33

Saturday, October 12, 2024

While disappointment is something we will experience while here on earth Jesus invites us to live differently—to imitate our Father.

Matthew 5:48
“But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.”

Today, reflect on the verse above as well as Matthew 5:38-47, or any of the other Scripture verses from this week, as we are called to follow Christ’s teachings. Spend some time carefully exploring each word, listening to what God wants to teach you.

Look back on the notes you captured over the past few days, and jot down any additional thoughts you may have.

Prayer:
Lord, your Word is challenging, sometimes even disappointing. Help me set aside my ways, turn to you, and step into the life you have for me. Teach me to love as you do, which will improve my relationships with others. You gave the ultimate example of love by dying on the cross for me. Help me live to bring you glory. Amen.

Series Theme Verse:
John 16:33
"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
