Do you possess money or does it possess you?

That’s the question we’ve been unraveling this week. While it's tempting to think a flush bank account and amazing possessions will solve all of our problems, the truth is these don’t satisfy us for long.

Only Jesus, God’s best gift to us, can do that.

James 1:17a
Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens.

Over 2000 years ago, God sent his Son as our Savior, and he continues to bless and send good gifts to his children.

Today, take time to practice contentment, appreciating God’s blessings in your life.

  • Find a quiet spot and consider what “enough” means for you.
  • Think of your blessings. Take time to savor them and praise God for his goodness.
  • As you think of God’s goodness and generosity to you, consider three ways you can be generous through your giving.

Prayer:
Lord, thank you for sending the best gift—Christ. You continue to bless me daily. Help me to slow down and savor the goodness you share in my life, and help me to respond by being generous in giving back to you. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Series Theme Verse:
John 16:33
"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
