When we prioritize and value the things of this world, we are often disappointed. Jesus offers a better way.
Matthew 6:19-21
19 “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. 21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.”
Today, reflect on the verse above as well as Mark 10:17-27, or any of the other Scripture verses from this week, as we are called to follow Christ’s teachings. Spend some time carefully exploring each word, listening to what God wants to teach you.
Look back on the notes you captured over the past few days, and jot down any additional thoughts you may have.
Prayer:
Lord, please teach me to put you first in my life. You are far better than anything this world has to offer. Help me store up eternal treasures, rooting myself in your love and goodness. Grow my love for you, so that my heart desires you more every day. Amen.
Series Theme Verse:
John 16:33
"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
