New Testament Reading Plan: Revelation 16
Psalm 139:16
You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
Every moment of our lives is known and recorded by God. Nothing about our story escapes his notice. Before we ever took our first breath, he had already written the pages of our days. That means every detail—our actions, our motives, and the posture of our hearts—is seen and known by him.
That truth can stir a mix of emotions within us. It's humbling to realize how fully God knows us, freeing to know that nothing is hidden, and, if we're honest, a little intimidating too. Yet even in that tension, there's comfort. God's sovereignty isn't meant to frighten us; it's meant to anchor us. He isn't standing far off, detached from our struggles or indifferent to our pain. He's near, and his plans for us are intentional.
God's presence weaves through every season—the joyful and the painful, the certain and the confusing. When life feels unsettled, when our hearts feel divided or unsure, he remains the steady hand guiding our story. His plans are never careless, and his purposes are never wasted. He is always writing something good, even when the sentences of our days feel disjointed or unfinished.
So today, let's choose to rest in that truth. Let's live with humility, gratitude, and quiet confidence in the Author of our lives. Our time here is limited, but every moment surrendered to God carries eternal impact. We can't control the number of our days, but we can entrust each one to the One who holds them all—and trust that, in God's hands, not a single moment is ever lost.
Questions:
When you think about your story being written by God, do you feel more comforted or intimidated? Why?
Can you look back on a season where God was working for good even when you couldn't see it at the time?
Next Steps:
Choose one area of your life today to surrender to God — something you've been trying to control or understand on your own.
Share a story or verse with a friend who might need to be reminded that God is still writing something good in their life, too.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for seeing me, knowing me, and loving me completely. Help me trust the plan you've outlined in your book and surrender every moment to you. Teach me to live humbly, purposefully, and gratefully, knowing that each day is a gift to point others to you. I love you, I trust you, and I worship you. Amen.
Series Theme Verse:
Colossians 1:13-14
For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.
