Have
you ever wished God would show you the whole plan before asking you to take the
first step?
I know
I have. Yet when we fully trust him, he often gives us just enough for when we
need it.
As we
reflect on this week’s reading of Luke 1–5, we’ve journeyed through some of
history’s most hope-filled moments.
We
watched God's promises unfold through the birth of John the Baptist and Jesus.
We saw Jesus resist temptation, begin his ministry, call his first disciples,
heal the hurting, and invite ordinary people into an extraordinary story.
It's a
reminder that Jesus isn't just the hero of Scripture—he's the Savior who still
calls us to follow him today.
Psalm
119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my
path."
A lamp
doesn't illuminate miles of road ahead. It simply provides enough light for the
next step.
That's
one of the gifts of God's Word.
In
last weekend's Bible for Grown-Ups message, we were reminded that the
Bible isn't just a book to read—it's how God reveals himself. We don't open it
to earn God's approval or check off another spiritual habit.
We
open it because we want to know the person behind every page and trust what he
shows us.
And
that's exactly what we've been doing this week: opening God's Word to know him
and trust him more.
So,
before you rush into the next chapter, pause for a moment. Thank God for what
he's already shown you, and then trust him with the next step, knowing his word
will continue to guide you exactly where you need to go.
You
don't need to see the whole path.
You
just need to keep walking with the One who does.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for revealing yourself through your Word. Thank you for
being faithful to your promises and for leading me one step at a time. Help me
stay consistent in seeking you—not out of obligation, but because I want to
know you more. As I begin a new week, let your Word be the light that guides my
path and your presence be my greatest joy. I love you, I trust you, and I
worship you. Amen.
