Weekend Series: Stronger than Stress

DreamTeam Writer: Kelly Pagel

Saturday, September 21, 2024

Contrary to popular belief, stress doesn’t have to be viewed as negative. In fact, research has shown that when we view challenges in a positive light, our bodies are not as negatively impacted. Scripture also encourages us to view adversity optimistically.

Reread James 1:2-4 and consider what it is saying. You may also wish to reflect on John 14:27 and John 16:33 to be reminded that Jesus offers the help we need. Look back on the notes you captured over the past few days, and jot down any additional thoughts you may have.

Prayer:
Lord, sometimes life is challenging and stressful and simply difficult. Help me have endurance and exercise perseverance, even when I don’t understand. Help me remember during those times that you have overcome the world. Fill me with your peace. Amen.

Series Theme Verse:

Ephesians 3:16-17
16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
