New beginnings! They are exciting, but they can also be a little nerve wracking. Sometimes, we long for what we had, and other times we’re left feeling like we are wandering in the wilderness. But the neutral zone, in between, can act as a bridge. God uses this transition to mature us and draw us closer to him.
Acknowledging this transition is important. Marking the end of a season helps us come back to what is true—God!
Ecclesiastes 3:1
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.
Today, consider where you are in the change process. What is God asking you to end so that you will be prepared to step into the future he has planned for you? Have you acknowledged the transition between the two seasons?
List three ways you could respond to close the season you are moving on from. Which one seems like it would best mark the moment and bring closure?
Finally, what step can you take to praise God and reorient your life toward him, trusting in his love and his perfect plan for your life?
21 Days of Prayer
Day 19—Brokenness
Today’s Prayer Focus: To be Broken Before Him (Psalm 51:17)
Today’s Prayer:
Dear God, I have missed the mark of righteousness many times. Yet while I was still separated from you, you loved me and sent your Son to die for me. Thank you, Lord. Today, I offer my broken spirit to you, for you alone can make it whole. I come to you asking for forgiveness from (insert areas of sin here), knowing I need you. Heal me, God. Teach my heart to break for what breaks yours. In your Son’s name I pray, amen.
Series Theme Verse:
Romans 12:2
Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
