The Angry Jesus series wrapped up last weekend with a powerful look at Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem from Luke 19:28-44—what we now remember as Palm Sunday. We also finished the Matthew Reading Plan yesterday, marking the end of a rich journey through Jesus’ life and teachings.
As we step into Easter weekend and celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, I want to encourage you not to lose sight of what we’ve learned along the way. The messages and readings from the past few weeks have given us a deeper understanding of Jesus—not just in his love and grace, but in how he handled human emotions, especially anger.
Today, take a moment to reflect on what stood out to you during this series. What did Jesus show us through how he responded—or chose not to respond—when anger stirred within him? What is he inviting you to notice, feel, or change as you follow his example?
Prayer:
Jesus, thank you for walking among us and showing us what it means to live with grace, strength, and self-control. As I reflect on how you responded to anger—with purpose, compassion, and truth—help me always to try to do the same. Thank you for your sacrifice and the new life we celebrate this Easter. I love you, I trust you, and I worship you. Amen.
Series Theme Verse:
Hebrews 4:15
This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.
