Weekend Series: Top Off Doors Off

As the Top Off Doors Off series comes to a close, it’s worth pausing to reflect on what God has been inviting us into in our relationships.

He is not inviting us to a perfect life or a polished version of ourselves. Instead, he directs us toward a more open life, one built on freedom in our relationships.

We often move through life guarded. We carefully manage how we’re seen, hold back parts of ourselves, and try to keep everything together. It can feel safer that way. But it’s also exhausting. Over time, it can keep us from experiencing the relationships and joy we were created for.

Yet, Jesus points us toward something different.

John 15:12-14
“This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.”

That kind of love isn’t distant or filtered. It’s personal, sacrificial, and deeply present. It sees us fully and stays anyway.

When we live from that place - receiving and giving such love - it changes how we show up. We become more open, let others in, and walk with others in a way that is real, not rehearsed.

This kind of life doesn’t happen by accident. Each day, you must let go of the pressure to appear put together, and instead, lean into connection with God and with others.

As you move forward, consider what you’re carrying. Think about what you might need to let go of. Reflect on who you’re inviting into your life and how you’re showing up in theirs.

A full life isn’t built on perfection. It’s built on honest, present, and shared love. That’s where real joy begins.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for inviting me into a life of honest, open, and present love. Help me let go of my need for perfection and the masks I wear to cover up parts of my life that don't reflect you. Give me the courage to be real with you and with everyone I do life with. Fill my relationships with your freedom and joy so that I can love as Jesus loves me. I love you, I trust you, and I worship you. Amen.

Series Theme Verse:
Galatians 5:13
For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
