Romans 15:13
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Joy and hope. Hope and joy.
But what if that's not how you're feeling right now?
Maybe joy feels distant. Maybe hope has been hard to find. Maybe you've been carrying the weight of trying harder, doing better, or measuring up.
The good news is that Romans 15:13 doesn't tell us to manufacture our own joy or create our own hope. It points us to God, the source of hope. When we stay connected to him and place our trust in him, he is the one who fills us with joy, peace, and hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
That's an important reminder because spiritual growth isn't about earning God's love. It isn't about striving harder or living under guilt and pressure. God already loves you completely. Growth happens as we receive his grace, stay connected to him, and learn to trust him more each day.
As you reflect on this week, remember that God's desire for you is not a life weighed down by shame or performance. He wants you to experience the fullness of his joy. As you remain connected to the One who loves you most, you'll discover that joy isn't something you have to chase. It's the natural overflow of a life rooted in Jesus.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, you have taught me that the greatest way to honor you is to love you with all my being. Help me seek you and know you more in these 21 Days of Prayer, and deepen my faith in you and my passion for you. May I love you more daily as you draw me nearer to you. Then, as my love for you overflows, help me to love others as you have loved me. Help me live out the example of Jesus, who loved me even though I did not earn or deserve it. May I love others every day with that kind of love so that, through me, they see a glimpse of what your love looks like. In Jesus' name, amen.
