Mark 3:13-14
Afterward Jesus went up on a mountain and called out the ones he wanted to go with him. And they came to him.  Then he appointed twelve of them and called them his apostles. They were to accompany him, and he would send them out to preach.

Jesus went up on a mountain, called the ones he wanted to go with him, and they came. He appointed the twelve so they could be with him, and so he could send them out.

Notice the order. Before they were sent, they were with him. And before they preached or led anyone else, they learned and followed.

Faith saves us, but learning is often where faith takes its first steps. Walking with Jesus is not a one-time decision; it’s an ongoing relationship. If you’re studying Scripture well, you’ll probably find yourself with more questions than answers. That’s not a weakness, it's movement.

Curiosity is often evidence that something deeper is taking root.

If you’re reading this and carrying doubts or struggles, you’re not behind; you’re in good company.

The disciples misunderstood parables and often wrestled with fear, pride, and comparison. They didn’t always “get it,” but they chose to stay and kept following. Over time, Jesus gently reshaped their hearts.

He even shifted their focus: instead of catching fish, they learned to reach people; instead of building a livelihood, they began building the Kingdom.

As you reflect this week after reading the chapters from Mark, or watching last weekend's message, The Catch, consider what Jesus may be teaching you. Where is he inviting you to simply be with him? Where do you think he’s preparing to send you?

You don't have to know everything to follow him; you just have to keep coming when he calls.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for calling me –even before I think I'm ready. Please take any doubts or struggles that may be harboring in my heart and place me somewhere I can learn more about you. Wherever you’re inviting me, my answer is yes. I love you, I trust you, and I worship you. Amen.

Series Theme Verse:
2 Corinthians 5:20
So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”
