2 Corinthians 1:3-5
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.
Challenges in life have a way of making us feel unsettled. We look at our mistakes, the prayers we're still waiting on, or the struggles that never seem to go away, and we wonder if we're making any progress at all. But Paul's words remind us that God "is the source of all comfort."
That means your story isn't stuck where it is right now. Every high and every low, every success and every failure is part of the process God is using to shape you into the image of Jesus (Romans 8:28-30).
This truth gives us both comfort and courage. Comfort, because we can rest knowing that God is in control. Courage, because if he’s not finished with us yet, then we can step forward in obedience without fear of failing (Philippians 1:6).
Today, reflect on the promise that God is merciful, trust that his plan for you is perfect, and remember that he wants to shower us with his comfort.
God's presence and comfort in your life isn't dependent on how strong you feel; it's dependent on his faithfulness.
Prayer: (Inspired by 2 Corinthians 1:3-5)
All praise to you, God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. You are merciful and the source of all comfort. Thank you for comforting me in all my troubles so that I can comfort others. I ask you to help guide me when others around me are troubled, so that I will be able to give them the same comfort that you show me. I love you, I trust you, and I worship you. Amen.
Series Theme Verse:
Romans 1:20
For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
