In the memory verse for the Your Journey series, Jesus says, "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:32).
Part of that truth is that your time, talents, and resources aren't random. They're entrusted to you by a good God who wants you to use them well.
When we live like our resources belong to God, everything shifts. Our purpose replaces pressure, freedom replaces fear, and abundance replaces anxiety.
As we conclude the Your Journey series, I encourage you to spend time today reflecting on what you've learned about your journey with Jesus over the last few weeks. The guided prayer from last weekend's service starts with the reminder of the simple invitation Jesus offers all of us: come and follow him.
It's simple, bold, and it's an invitation into a life fully alive.
Take some quiet, restful time to listen to or read the guided prayer linked below, and ask yourself, where is God inviting me to take a next step today?
Then respond to God in whatever way you feel nudged.
Guided Prayer:
Jesus, you extend a simple and profound invitation - "Come and follow me." And today we hear it not as a distant call from the past made to someone else, but a call to us personally, a living invitation for our lives right now.
We confess that too often we reduce following you to a checklist of dos or don’ts, trying to become more spiritual. But you’re inviting us into something much deeper, fuller, and more alive. You’re calling us to be a fully devoted follower, in every area of our life. If we’re being honest – it can be a scary call. So, in this next moment, we name what scares us most about it and surrender it to you. (Pause for surrender.)
With a surrendered heart, God, anything is possible. So, teach us to learn, to see our lives through your eyes. Help us to live walking in your ways, trusting in your lead. And give us boldness and love to share, so others may know the beauty of life and freedom with you. We say yes to following you, yes to the journey you have for us, and yes to the transformation that is possible because of who you are. Amen.
(This guided prayer is from the video shared during the May 17/18, 2025, weekend service.)
