Weekend Series: Sounds of Summer

DreamTeam Writer: Lori Tuckerman

Saturday, June 14, 2025

As we reflect on the messages and devotions this week, we're reminded of the powerful truth: God PROMISES to finish what he started.

Not just in the world - but in you.

This week may have stirred something in your heart. Is there a place where you feel like you're not measuring up, or where progress feels slow?

If you've been trying to muscle through something on your own or quietly carrying the weight of "not enough," be encouraged that God hasn't given up on you. And he never will.

In Philippians 1:6, Paul says we can be certain, not wishful, not hopeful, but certain, that he is still working. He sees what others don't. He knows what you've been through. And he's committed to shaping you into who you were always meant to be.

If this week revealed some cracks beneath the surface, take heart. Those cracks are where God's grace can shine through the most. Let them remind you that you're a deeply loved work in progress. Spend some time reflecting or journaling about where you've already seen God show up or where you've felt him stirring something new. Then, in his faithfulness, invite him again to keep working - especially in the areas where you long to grow and heal.

Keep showing up. Keep trusting. Keep pressing on. Because God called you, and he is faithful - he will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for reminding me that I am not forgotten, not finished, and I am never alone in this journey. You see the parts of me that still feel weak or not enough, and yet you don't turn away; you lean in. Thank you for starting good work in me and for promising to finish it. Where I've tried to fix things on my own, could you give me the courage to let go? I ask you again, in your faithfulness, to keep working in the places I've been afraid to face. Grow me, heal me, and give me peace in the process. I choose today to keep showing up, trusting, and pressing on. I love you, I trust you, and I worship you. Amen.

Series Theme Verse:

2 Corinthians 1:20
For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.
