Just like a cookie only tastes right when the right ingredients are mixed together, our lives are made up of many different pieces. Some pieces are sweet, and some are bitter. But when God is in charge, nothing is wasted. He even folds the hard parts into something with eternal purpose.
The ultimate example of God working through pain is the sacrifice Jesus made for us. Being betrayed, beaten, and crucified was deeply painful, but even in that suffering, God was at work. Through the cross, Jesus brought salvation and the promise of eternal life to us all.
Maybe your life feels like a mix of things you didn't choose or don't understand. That's okay. Let the journey we've been on together this week be a reminder: God is working, even when it doesn't feel good.
2 Corinthians 4:17
For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!
Take time today to reflect on the purpose God has placed in front of you for your life. If you haven't discovered your purpose, sign up for GrowthTrack and prayerfully begin to take steps into the amazing plan he has for you!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for not wasting anything. Even when I don't understand the ingredients going into my life, help me trust that you are working them together for good. Remind me that pain isn't the end of the story; it's just part of the process. Just as you brought life through the suffering of Jesus, you're creating something beautiful in me. Give me peace in the waiting, hope in the challenging moments, and joy in knowing you're not finished yet. In Jesus' name, I pray, amen.
Series Theme Verse:
2 Corinthians 1:20
For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.
