We spend a lot of time trying to get more: more money, more stuff, more security. But what if the secret to having more isn't getting more?
Throughout Keep the Change, we've been reminded that money makes a great servant but a terrible master. When we tell our money where to go, we can create margin, make room for generosity, and live according to what matters most. And when we give, something changes in us. Our trust in God grows, our grip on what we have loosens, and our hearts become more focused on what lasts.
That's the real goal of this series. Generosity isn't about checking a box or giving out of obligation. It's about trusting the One who provides for us and using what he's given us to make an eternal difference.
1 Timothy 6:6-7
Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it.
We can spend our lives accumulating things that won't last, or we can invest in what will. The question isn't simply how much we have, but what we're doing with what God has entrusted to us.
As you reflect today, consider what change you can make with your money to reflect greater trust in God and a desire to make an eternal impact.
Prayer:
Father, thank you for providing for me. Help me hold loosely to what I have and trust you with what I need. Shape my heart to reflect yours, and show me how to use what you've given me to make a difference that lasts forever. I love you, I trust you, and I worship you. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
